We have some big news in the Junior Studio. We have officially moved buildings. Our new space is an impressive size, has the most incredible view of London and is about a four minute walk from Barbican station. We have views of the BT Tower, Bartholomew’s Hospital and St. Pauls, just to name a few.

A squash in a swimming pool

Surreal and peculiar, the Squash at the Tate Britain features a solo performer wearing a selection of squash and pumpkin masks in which they move and feel around the white tiled installation, designed to make us question what life would be like as a vegetable. If you’re looking for something strange and yet slightly hypnotic, there’s a performance on every day for the next six months accompanied by a collection of nine squash inspired pieces. Read on >

There’s a load of top Instagram worthy installations dotted all around Clerkenwell at this year’s design festival. Blow your nose

On one of the only sunny days we’ve had so far this year, we decided to hide away and see Picasso’s first ever solo exhibition at the Tate. Paintings, sculptures, drawings and photographs, his bold colours and abstract shapes have rejuvenated our creative minds. Rousing stuff with a solid gift shop.

We recently visited Balance Festival to get a taste of what 2018 holds for food and drink. GDPR will basically replace the Data Protection Act 1998 and means that as the consumer we now have the right to know who, what and why our personal data is to be stored by businesses, where they’re keeping it and how they’re deleting it. Virtual reality

We visited ‘Vice Versa’ to see how Sturtevant takes iconic artwork from renown artists such as Andy Warhol and repositions them within a new space. His appropriation of imagery is used to highlight and question the impact of the digital age. No free wine or cheese.  Read on >

Imitate Hoyo

Inspired by the Basquiat exhibition last month we stopped by CB Hoyo’s exhibition at the Imitate Modern Gallery. A self-trained artist, he daringly mocks peoples obsession with abstract, modern and pop art. Chin scratching and free wine but no cheese.

Jean Basquiat

The Junior team enjoyed a tax-free outing to the Barbican to get a closer look at the work of the man who defined 80’s New York street culture. We were lucky enough to be shown around by a close friend to Basquiat who eloquently rationalised chaos!

Junior collaborated with the Vivobarefoot team on the interior design for their recently opened flagship store on Neal Street, Covent Garden, and in doing so, created the blue print for their global retail experience. We worked alongside Asher, Vivo’s co-founder and the creative force behind the brand to transform the London location into a place that showcases the shoes in their intended environments as opposed to a traditional retail space.
